We have several groups that meet throughout the week in homes and apartments around the Eastside. All of our groups are open to new people and designed to be a place for you to come and connect.

GOSPEL COMMUNITIES

We call most of our groups "Gospel (Good News) Communities." Gospel Communities exist to encouage each other with the Gospel and to mix Jesus in to our lives and the lives of the people in our circle of influence through word and deed so as to multiply. 

Let's face it, the world is full of two things. Discouraging news and people who need Jesus. When we come together in our Gospel Communities we fight against the discouragement and we help each other find Jesus and put his words into practice.

Emmaus Road has 4 Gospel Communities currently. Our leaders are normal people just like you. We see the high value the Bible puts on authentic community and true friendship and so we have made time in our schedules to lead these groups and welcome in new people like you. Gospel Communities usually have 6-12 people in them and meet every week.

OTHER GROUPS

Emmaus Road is always encouraging and training up new leaders to start new groups. We hope to start even more Gospel Communities, so that every neighborhood on the Eastside has one. We also from time to time have other groups focused on short-term goals or activities. One example of this was our recent Alpha course. 

The Alpha Course

Alpha was a ten week group that met Thursday nights in Newcastle last Spring. Alpha is a practical introduction to the Christian faith and really an ideal place for a non-Christian to connect with others and explore the meaning of life. Our Alpha course was a great blessing to everyone who participated. We will most likely offer it again soon in the future.
