The first words out of Jesus' mouth when he began his public ministry were, "The time has come, the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the Good News." (Mark 1:16)
The Gospel is the Good News that, in Jesus, God himself has defeated our enemies and now offers us forgiveness and eternal life if we will but accept it. The Gospel is not just the ABC's of the Christian faith, it is the A to Z.
The Gospel is the redemption story of God as laid out in the pages of the Bible and climaxing in the sinless life, sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus. It begins with God and his good creation that was corrupted by sin . It focuses on Jesus' loving act of redemption and concludes with the future Restoration where God will make all things new, and wipe every tear from our eyes.
